The Alien Queen[1] is a boss in Ratchet & Clank. It is a giant alien snapper encountered by Ratchet and Clank in the Blarg Tactical Research Station, Nebula G34, and the first boss in the series. The Alien Queen is encountered at the end of "Explore the space station" in a large, green room, shortly before where Fred is located. Unlike other bosses, the Alien Queen will reappear on returns to the Blarg Tactical Research Station after being defeated once.

Defeating the Alien Queen with only the OmniWrench will earn the skill point, "Girl Trouble."

The Alien Queen is absent in the 2016 re-imagined Ratchet & Clank. In its place, the blargian snagglebeast is fought in a similar boss battle.

Characteristics

The Alien Queen is a giant, dark brown alien snapper with large, orange eyes. As with other snappers, she moves quickly, and should be defeated from a distance. She will summon alien swarmers and alien snappers for its defense, and while summoned, will stay back.

Combat

The Alien Queen will quickly approach Ratchet to lunge forward and bite, and once it approaches, will lunge forward and bite. These bites can be dodged, but the bites are fast, which means dodging must be careful. However, the best way to defeat her is to keep distance and fire the Blaster, and also use the Glove of Doom to send agents to destroy her before she approaches. When the Alien Queen loses a third of her hit points, she will summon a large group of swarmers, against which the Pyrocitor should be used. When losing another third, she will summon two snappers, against which the Glove of Doom is the best bet while focusing on the Queen herself.

When defeating the Alien Queen with only the OmniWrench for the skill point, "Girl Trouble," it is best to learn her timing, side flip, and follow it up with hyper-strikes.

When fighting the boss again with the Morph-o-Ray, it is possible, though difficult, to transform it into a chicken, and doing so will leave behind two chickens.
