Like, after reading through this wiki, where was it EVER confirmed that it's story is non canon? Is there an offical source that says it? If so, then where?
... seriously, nobody is gonna forgive me? Seriously, please forgive me..
LOOK, IM SORRY, OKAY? Can you please stop hating on me, I just dislike the idea of the movie and its tie-in video game being canon, like, I just HATE how everything has to be 1 singular timeline instead of multiple continuities.
Please don't hate on me, I just dislike the idea...
And?
In the SAME GAME, shev helix mentions a scene that never happens in the movie. It's the scene where ratchet decided to use a banana and whatever to escape being trapped from space, until qwark correct him by saying "he went home". In the movie, this happens the EXACT same way in the ps4 game.
Why is nefarious added? Wouldn't ratchet be VERY confused since has 0 and I mean literally 0 prior knowledge of nefarious?
Why is qwark not bothered by the fact that ratchet turned nefarious into a robot?
Why is the galatic rangers, ratchet, and drek look nothing like their game counterparts?
Why did clank not request more screentime?
If it is a holo-film, then Why is the holo-film NEVER once mentioned by rift apart?
If it IS just a retelling of the 1st game by qwark, explain these?
Why are the galatic rangers using their movie designs?
Why did qwark mention the blarg exterminated the lombaxes? (Idc if the line was cut, its not been proven to be non canon cuz its unused.)
Why is ratchet using his movie design?
Why is zed here when he doesn't exist?
Why Is elaris mentioned by ratchet when she doesn't exist?
Why is qwark's escape in prison nothing like how it is interpreted in going commando?
Why did qwark have ratchet be the one nefarious to turn nefarious to a robot?
Why did ratchet visit qwark in the end of the game even though ratchet completey despised qwark?
Why is qwark's retelling COMPLETELY identical to the movie if the movie is just a "holo-film"? It makes no sense for qwark to take a story from a movie and make it his own.
Why is kerwan's design AND name (its literally called aleero city in the beginning of the game) identical to the movie design instead of the 2002 design?
And last but not least; Why can't the ps4 game be a DIRECT SEQUEL to the movie? The movie ends with private qwark going to prison after teaming up with drek, and the game starts right after the movie. There's clearly GOOD... and I mean GOOD continuity between the movie and ps4 game, so why can't we just have the ps4 game be a sequel to the movie?
I'm sorry but if the movie is a "holo-film", then it completely ruins my experience watching the movie entirely. I hate the idea of "movies being actual movies in-universe" entirely. And it ALSO is a complete insult to the people at rainmaker studios making the movie, cuz all their would be for nothing cuz it's just gonna be a simple "movie" in-universe, completely ruining their effort.
And also, insomniac did not create the movie, rainmaker studios did, so insomniac has no say on what the movie is and isn't, and since rainmaker studios has NOT confirmed it as a "holo-film", then it isn't. Case closed.
Also, I'm not raging and im not even ranting, im just saying the plot holes. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm in rage...
If he's the master of the ps4 game canon, then is he a master of the movie canon too? If so, shouldn't he know that the ps4 game takes place after the ending of the movie?
I'm just curious,
Whatever. And also, because I don't wanna make a saprate post out of this topic, I'm gonna say it here, the ps4 game and movie is NOT in-universe fiction. There's SEVERAL plot holes for that, read these please, so that the people on this wiki can actually, ya know, take notes on canon.
I'm going with the movie first.
Plot hole 1; why would Dr nefarious want to voice act in a movie with his enemies? And there's absolutely no way they found someone who for some reason SOUNDS JUST LIKE nefarious for this film. it wouldn't make sense cuz both ratchet and clank didn't have any prior knowledge of nefarious.
Plot hole 2; why would ratchet portray himself as a fan of captain qwark? ratchet himself actually DISLIKED qwark as a whole. This... makes no sense, why would ratchet allow this?
Plot hole 3; (related to the ps4 game because why not?) shev helix mentions that the movie he watched contains a scene with ratchet escaping being stuck in space, using a banana but qwark corrects him saying he went home. In the movie, its JUST LIKE how qwark said. So how can it be a holo film if this part never happens in the IRL version of the movie that we have seen? And there's no way it's a deleted scene either, cuz there's no signs of it at all.
Plot hole 4; why would clank not request more screentime? (On a side note, this was at least one of my complaints about the movie even if I like it, so that's why I put it here.)
Plot hole 5; shouldn't qwark have himself turn nefarious into a robot instead of ratchet? Cuz qwark in the main game universe is always known to steal the glory of both ratchet and clank... that and ya know, qwark beating nefarious actually HAPPENED! So it doesn't work here.
Plot hole 6; why does drek and ratchet look NOTHING like his ps2 game counterpart if this was created as an in-universe movie? most people already know what drek looks like as of the 2002 game's story mode, so why is he inaccurate? For ratchet, why was ratchet NOT barefooted and shirtless? THE OUTFIT HE WEARS DOESN'T CANONICALLY EXIST UNTIL RIFT APART!!! Why not use 2002 ratchet to AVOID this type of confusion if it is intended to be a holo film?
Honestly, the ONLY piece of evidence that it's an actual MOVIE is the 2013 trailer, but trailers are most of the time non canon so do NOT use this as evidence... And the ps4 game mentioning it as a movie, which doesn't work because shev helix mentions a part that NEVER happens in the movie, meaning that it could very easily just been a "movie adaptation of something that happened in real life" thing... But that's it. Otherwise, there's barely any evidence that it's a movie in universe, and the plot holes are too messy to mention.
Okay, now let's get into the PS4 PLOT HOLES!
Plot hole 1; why would qwark interpret ratchet being the one who defeated dr nefarious? This Absolutely makes no sense whatsoever, due to how HE FUCKING WAS THE ONE WHO DID IT. this is a plot hole in itself.
Plot hole 2; why did qwark bother making up characters anyway? Seems unnecessary for him to make up the galactic rangers teams to begin with.
Plot hole 3; the galactic ranger robots use their movie designs instead of their 2004 UYA/2010 comic designs OUTSIDE of qwark telling the story.
Plot hole 4; why did qwark even ADD nefarious in his story to begin with? And why would qwark portray him as an old galactic ranger member instead of a high school buddy? Idk, seems like a stretch for qwark to add nefarious.
Plot hole 5; Zed makes an appearance in prison with qwark, even tho we never see him or get mentioned of ever again.
Plot hole 6; the entire ending. Ratchet's entire design is nothing like the 1st game counterpart, since he didnt wear footwear and a shirt at all, ratchet OUTRIGHT mentions elaris, the ship design resembles the movie design, ratchet brought in qwark to join him even tho at this point, ratchet DESPISES qwark and doesn't want anything to do with him, and of course the galactic ranger designs. Also, in that same ending, qwark LITERALLY goes with ratchet, but... um... qwark escapes using a toilet as stated in going commando.
Plot hole 7; qwark is shown to have regretted his actions and shows redemption (talking about the scenes that take place in prison with qwark.)... yet, qwark didn't feel this way until up your arsenal, since that's the game where his redemption comes into place.
Honestly, idc what y'all say, but... the movie and it's ps4 game can NOT work in the original timeline, regardless if it's replacing the ps2 games story or if it's an in-universe movie and in-universe qwark narration. these 2 cannot work. They just can't. The ONLY way to accept these things is: treat them as an alternate continuity, separate from the games entirely. So... why not you guys just say "the movie and the ps4 game are in a separate continuity from the rest of the series"??? What's wrong with different continuities? Many video game movie adaptation are saprate from their games, so why not do the same with ratchet and clank?
And whenever I keep reading articles, you people NEVER EVER EVER have a source on why it's non canon. You're only source is just "trust me bro" and that's it. Next time, give AN ACTUAL source on the game being non canon.
I'm just saying, if you don't give a source, you guys are essentially lying to people.
Like, after reading through this wiki, where was it EVER confirmed that it's story is non canon? Is there an offical source that says it? If so, then where?
